Tracie Travers
Fairfield, ME
Tracie Travers has worked with middle school and high school students since 1993. She has been an educational technician in an alternative education classroom and a program manager in a residential facility. She is currently a career preparation and financial literacy coordinator for Jobs for Maine’s Graduates (JMG). In each of these roles, Tracie has brought energy, creativity, and a desire to show students how much they matter and support them in their growth.
Tracie has been certified as a therapeutic crisis intervention trainer, a master trainer for the National Center for Construction Education and Research, and an assistant coach for Dale Carnegie. She currently is a certified Poverty Coach and GoldStar speaker with Dr. Donna Beegle and Communication Across Barriers. Tracie has spoken, trained, and written about her experiences as a child living in poverty, as a teenage parent, and as an adult who has impacted many by valuing people. A co-worker once said to her, “I bet you’re one of those people who think all kids can learn.” Tracie said matter-of-factly, “Yes, I am.” She has devoted her professional career to proving that belief.
